The track at Mývatn Open.
At the 8th of march 2014 the famous icetölt competition “Mývatn Open” will take place at lake Mývatn in the northeastern part of Iceland.
The Mývatn area is famous for it´s amazing landscape with geothermical hotsprings, mudpots, waterfalls and vulcanos. HestaNet offer a long weekend of riding with the possibility to participate at Mývatn Open. We will have a nice mix of riding on good horses, nice food, compeating at Mývatn Open, a visit in the Mývatn area and a nice bath at the blue lagoon Jardbödin. We also go to Akureyri to visit some well known trainers and for some shopping.
Classes: Tölt A-class (for experienced riders) Tölt B-class (for less experienced riders) and one class for stallions where they show trot and flying pace as well. In the töltclasses there are 6 rounds at the straight track, slow tempo tölt x2, tempochanges x2 and free rounds x2 to show fast tempo.
The finals are the same day and afterwards there are a coffee and cake bufé at Hótel Sel.
What is included: 4 days of riding and some training for the competition. Full board during the stay at the farm Hléskógar, 30 km from Akureyri City. All transports during the stay, entry fee at Jardbödin and a visit in the Mývatn area.
What is not included: Flights, bus to / from Akureyri, ev. restaurant visits in Akureyri (highly recommended)
Price: 5.500 SEK/person
Arrival: With domestic flights or bus to Akureyri 5/3 2014. Departure by domestic flight or bus from Akureyri afternoon on 9/3 (it is fine to stay longer if you wish). You can get very good air fares with Wow-air and Icelandair if you order air tickets now.
